THC-M is just another, among many newly discussed and occasionally marketed cannabinoids gaining popularity. It is a derivative of the cannabis plant, but is one of the rarest and least-researched of all the cannabinoids, currently. Stick with us as we discuss what exactly THC-M is, its potential side effects, and its legal status.
IS THC-M A CANNABINOID?
THC-M, or tetrahydrocannabinol monomethyl ether, is a “new” cannabinoid scientists have been unable to isolate in a lab setting. Thus, there are many unknowns when it comes to this cannabinoid.
THC-M is said to be a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, making it a potentially attractive option for medical use, but also resulting in a general disinterest of general research into the cannabinoid.
POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS OF THC-M
It is also important to note that THC-M has hardly been studied, so the reported potential side effects are not yet known. The science coupled with this cannabinoid has mainly observed THC-M as a marker of cannabis use during pregnancy.
LEGAL STATUS OF THC-M
Based on all the available information, THC-M products would likely be considered hemp – products containing less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC at dry weight.
Because THC-M has been impossible to isolate and has only been observed in incinerated cannabis (smoking), anyone should be wary of a product advertised to be or contain THC-M.
